We will begin our walk in front of the monument remembering the first Italian soldier who lost his life during World War I. Along what was the front of the "Caporetto break through" we will commemorate Field Marshal Rommel's deeds and step on the very same ground where the Italian and Austro-German soldiers fought. We will then enter the very trenches where they lived and from there, we will gaze over the underlying Isonzo river valley and mount Monte Nero.

We will proceed through tunnels and machine gun posts and we will discover the places that where the center of one of the most famous battles in history, that took place on the 24th - 26th of October 1917.

In this walk through history you will be accompanied by Nico, a history graduate who cooperates with the Natisone valleys offices to promote the magic and the beauty of our territory.
