The Romagno Woods are historically known for a notorious incident involving bloodshed. Back when the area was still wild scrubland, partisans from the Osoppo Brigades—having been seized by members of the Garibaldi Brigades—were brought here. After being interrogated, they were executed near the woods and buried on the spot. A plaque commemorates this tragic event. The woods boast rich vegetation and wildlife, creating a diverse landscape, while other parts of the area consist of open meadows.
Within the woods, one can spot roe deer, foxes, badgers, squirrels, edible dormice, and the occasional wildcat. Freshwater crayfish can be found in the pristine streams. There is also a recreational area where children can play outdoors. Furthermore, well-maintained paths allow visitors to go hiking or walking, or to exercise along a fitness trail. For lunchtime, there is also the option of a break amidst nature.
